Chaff Collector and Cooling Bin Cleaning
- Scraping the walls of the chaff collector with flat blade or putty knife, wire brush
- Wiping down cooling bin walls and tray
- Cleaning and removing of buildup on perforated tray
- Poking through holes in perforations
- Blowers Inspection and Cleaning
- Unplug the machine
- Remove 2 side panels on the exhaust side of the roaster
- Remove 2 back panels covering the belts
- Remove main drive belts
- Remove 2 lower pulleys on the idler shaft located at the lower back section
- Remove 2 set screws
- Slide pulleys off the shaft
- Main Blower Removal
- Remove 4 bolts holding motor, stand and blower assembly to the frame
- IF( power cord from motor is too short to allow for assembly to slide out from roster )
- remove chrome control panel
- mark wires at motor for later reconnection
- unscrew wires
- IF( power cord from motor is too short to allow for assembly to slide out from roster )
- Slide out the assembly through the back of machine
- Check the cross tube
- Remove 4 wing nuts holding adapter plate connecting blower housing to the cross tube
- Remove the fan from the motor by removing the set screw located between motor and blower housing
- Pry the fan off the shaft by using a pry bar between the motor ad fan hub
- Scrape the fan housing with a flat blade and housing fan sat inside of
- Vacuum debris
- Clean with degreaser if desired, but not mandatory
- Reinstall fan and spin by hand make sure it does not rub on the housing
- Reverse the steps for re-assembly
- Remove 4 bolts holding motor, stand and blower assembly to the frame
- Cooler Blower Removal
- Remove the four screws holding cover on the connection box
- Mark electrical wires for re-connections
- Disconnect the wires
- Remove power cord running to the motor
- Remove wing nuts holding the motor to the blower housing
- Pull out the motor and squirrel cage fan as one unit
- Clean and Inspect fan blades and housing
- Scrape debris from each blade
- Vacuum
- Reverse steps for reassembly
- Bearing Greasing
- Grease front and back bearings with a grease gun with high temperature grease ( at least 450° F rated )
- Grease 2 bearing supporting the idler shaft and pulleys ( with grease gun through zerck fittings )

- Grease bearing under the sweeper arm
- Remove acorn nut that holds sweeper arms down
- Depending on model remove set screw holding the arm to the shaft
- Pull up the arms to remove them
- Watch for key that may fall out from between the arms and shaft
- Remove the race to expose bearing
- Pack bearing with grease using fingers, pushing the grease in between the ball bearings
- Exhaust Duct Internal and External
- External Duct
- Break down exhaust duct
- Clean out with chimney sweep
- Clean with degrease if needed
- Internal Airflow Duct through the Chaff Collector
- Remove the chaff door
- Fish up a small chimney sweep up the airflow duct clean out debris and buildup
- You can do the same through the top of the drum going down
- Vacuum out loose debris
- Removal of the upper drum assembly to access internal airflow duct
- Remove probe from the faceplate with box wrench
- Remove rear belt guard
- Remove main drive belt
- Remove perforated chrome side panels
- Remove 3 bolts on each side (6 total) holding the main drum to the lower frame
- 2 people lift and remove
- 1 person twist or slide the drum assembly on one side. Make sure assembly is balanced at all times.
- Scrape the walls of the duct with a long, flat blade
- Vacuum out debris through the chaff collector opening below
- Clean upwards into the upper drum assembly
- Cleaning upper portion of the internal airflow duct
- Remove the hopper assembly
- Run small chimney sweep down duct
- Cleaning small tube running front to back above the drum
- Remove small chrome plate held by Allen screws on back of machine

- Slide to the side a small teardrop shaped plate on the front
- Vacuum out debris
- External Duct
- Burner and Jet Inspection and Cleaning
- Visually inspect the burner flames to see if any are not lighting
- Unscrew jets
- Check orifices for buildup and contamination from gas supply line
- Clean out with air gun or compressed air
- Airflow Adjustments
- Adjust with black lever next to chaff collector on control side of machine
- Fire Prevention
- Reduce airflow if too great
- Follow preventive maintenance recommendations!
